Avinash: This is a picture of top Indian model Yana Gupta, I shot this image in an exclusive nightclub in Mumbai called Synergy.
The thought was to give Yana a 'classic Hollywood' but slightly sleazy look ... the kind of girl that Al Capone might fall for!

I shot her with a Fresnel 200 mounted on a 1000Ws monolight. I kept it at quite some distance and opened up the aperture of the Fresnel to full. That just lit up the face and body with the perfect look that I had in mind.

To give the feel of the ambience without making it too bright, I mounted a Grid on a Gemini 500 monolight and threw it on the background for some subtle lighting.

Faye: I really enjoy working with the Bowens Fresnel 200. This attachment is definitely in regular use in the studio, and it is the one light modifier I would not be without.

The set-up for this image was really simple; it's something that anyone can do. I placed a single Gemini 500Pro up high above the model, at a 45º angle. The Fresnel, when used at this angle, allowed me to create those wonderful, deep shadows.
The Fresnel 200 is an asset to any studio, it can enhance even the most simple of portraits; you can instantly turn a boring head-and-shoulders style picture into such a romantic feeling shot without even trying.
